An inquest into the death of Professor Jason Arday, who was found in Battersea on August 14, will open on Wednesday, August 26. His memoir is due to be published the following day, days after he resigned from his Cambridge post amid plagiarism allegations.

The Metropolitan Police investigated journalist Jack Grove for harassment after he questioned Professor Jason Arday’s academic record and charity claims. The case was closed in February 2026. Cambridge University is conducting a separate inquiry into Arday’s qualifications and honorary appointments.
