A former Hornchurch teacher, Paul Whiteman, has been found guilty of arranging or facilitating a child sex offence. He had previously admitted to making indecent images of children and engaging in sexual communication with a child. Sentencing is scheduled for November 27.

Snooker player Graeme Dott has been convicted of sexually abusing two children. He targeted a girl between 1993 and 1996, and a boy between 2006 and 2010. One victim first reported Dott's behaviour to the police in 2001.
