A formal inquest will investigate the death of Mia Shay St Hilaire, 12, who died in August 2023 after consuming a milkshake suspected to contain nuts at Pop Inn Café in Bermondsey. Southwark Council's investigation found nuts in the drink, and the café operator has already been fined for food safety breaches.
Hackney Council has launched an investigation into a health and safety complaint at Shoreditch House, a branch of the exclusive Soho House private members' club. The probe follows claims by a former employee about the alleged mislabelling of out-of-date food.

The Old Oak Tree pub in Southall has been fined approximately £17,000 for serious public health and safety violations, including infestations of bed bugs and cockroaches. The company director, Darshan Singh Grewal, received a criminal record.
