Max Matthews, 31, of Albion Drive, Hackney, was sentenced to 12 years and six months for leading a crime group that trafficked 74kg of cocaine, 12.5kg of heroin and 50kg of cannabis. He was extradited from Dubai in February 2026 after absconding in 2021.

Dempsey Nibbs, convicted of murdering his long-term partner Judith Nibbs in Hoxton in 2014, has died in HMP Belmarsh at the age of 79. The Prisons and Probation Ombudsman is investigating his death, which occurred on 26 July 2025.
