Six arrested as Millwall and West Ham derby ends 2-2

The Dockers Derby between Millwall and West Ham concluded with a 2-2 draw at The Den on Saturday, accompanied by six arrests. The Metropolitan Police confirmed the total number of detentions following the match, which saw a significant police presence to manage the rivalry.

Around 400 officers were deployed by the Metropolitan Police for the fixture. A large dispersal zone was implemented across parts of south-east London, with officers in riot gear and mounted patrols active before kick-off. Away supporters were segregated and directed to enter the ground via a specific route.

Millwall established a 2-0 lead in the first half. Caleb Taylor opened the scoring five minutes into the match, with Camiel Neghli doubling the advantage just before half-time. The home side's confidence was evident, with Mark Sykes also hitting the crossbar.

West Ham mounted a second-half comeback. Mohamadou Kante reduced the deficit with a goal, and Konstantinos Mavropanos equalised with a header. The match saw further drama when Kante was sent off late in the game for fouling Millwall winger Kyrell Lisbie.

The final whistle confirmed a shared points with the 2-2 scoreline. The return fixture between the two clubs is scheduled for February at the London Stadium.
