Abbey Wood hit-and-run driver jailed for over three years

Brennan Mongan, 31, has been sentenced to three years and two months in prison for a hit-and-run incident that occurred on March 8 in Harrow Manorway, Abbey Wood. The incident involved a vehicle striking a woman and then leaving the scene.

Footage of the collision was widely shared online. The woman, who was in her 20s, was taken to hospital. Her condition was not reported as life-threatening or life-changing, according to News Shopper.

Convictions and Sentence

Mongan was identified as the driver and was arrested in Scotland approximately two weeks after the collision. He was convicted at Woolwich Crown Court of grievous bodily harm, dangerous driving, criminal damage, and driving while disqualified.

In addition to his prison sentence, which was handed down on September 11, Mongan received a driving ban of four years and seven months. He will be required to pass an extended retest before he is eligible to drive again.
