Arsenal fans demand titles after Man City charges report

Arsenal supporters have voiced demands for their club to be awarded Premier League titles in light of recent reports concerning Manchester City's alleged breaches of financial regulations. The calls intensified after The Athletic reported that an independent commission found Manchester City guilty of 114 out of 115 charges.

Supporters' Claims

Many Arsenal fans have taken to social media to express their belief that their club is owed at least one, and possibly two, Premier League titles. Specifically, supporters are of the opinion that titles from the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons, where Arsenal finished as runners-up to Manchester City, should be awarded to them.

Some fans argue that a points deduction for Manchester City at the time the charges were initially brought, during the 2023-24 season, would have benefited Mikel Arteta’s side. However, the alleged financial breaches by Manchester City cover a nine-year period between the 2009-10 and 2017-18 seasons. This timeframe means that any potential stripping of titles from Manchester City would not retroactively award them to Arsenal, even in the unlikely event of such a sanction.

Manchester City's Response

A spokesperson for Manchester City stated that the Premier League process is still ongoing and involves significant elements yet to be completed. The club also indicated that the proceedings are subject to strict confidentiality. Manchester City's position remains consistent with a statement issued in February 2023, asserting that the club has respected due process for eight years and expects the Premier League board and executive to act as an independent, impartial, and fair-minded regulator, free from partisan influence.
