Bromley drug dealer jailed for four-and-a-half years

Navid Jamshidi, 33, has been sentenced to four-and-a-half years in prison for his involvement in supplying cocaine across south east London. He was stopped by officers on June 19 in St Paul's Cray. At the time of his arrest, Jamshidi was recently released from a previous prison sentence for drug offences.

Police discovery during stop

Officers stopped Jamshidi's Land Rover and found an empty snap bag, £300 in cash, and several mobile phones. One of the phones was identified as the 'Nige' drugs line, which had been used to advertise and sell cocaine throughout south east London. Prosecutor John Clifford told Woolwich Crown Court that Jamshidi appeared nervous when one of the phones rang with a caller asking for 'Nige'.

Text messages found on the phone, sent between July 2025 and June this year, advertised cocaine with phrases such as 'New banging shine. Best one about. Fattest packets from early to late. Doing quick deliveries. Back up and running, Nigel.' Investigators established that Jamshidi was not merely a courier but was operating the line himself under the alias 'Nige'. Evidence included Jamshidi using the name 'Nige' to book taxis and a missed call from his partner on the drugs line phone.

Previous conviction and sentencing

Jamshidi pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of cocaine and possession of criminal property. He appeared for sentencing by video link from HMP Thameside on Thursday, October 10. This is not Jamshidi's first offence; he was previously jailed for eight years and four months in 2021 for a similar drug supply offence, which involved the seizure of half a kilogram of cocaine. Adil Syed, defending, noted Jamshidi's previous conviction and stated that his client found it difficult to secure employment after his release in 2024, leading him to fall back into old associations. Mr Syed also suggested that Jamshidi was in debt from his previous arrest, making drug dealing an 'easy option' to repay money.

Recorder Robert Ward acknowledged Jamshidi's acceptance of his actions and the consequences. He sentenced Jamshidi to four-and-a-half years imprisonment.
