Man previously imprisoned for PC Sharon Beshenivsky's manslaughter sentenced for firearms offences.
Incident → evidence → outcomeFaisal Razzaq, 44, was sentenced to life imprisonment at Harrow Crown Court on October 22 for his involvement in a network that supplied illegal firearms across London. He was identified as a key distributor of converted firearms, moving them from a workshop to buyers. Razzaq had previously been jailed for the 2005 manslaughter of PC Sharon Beshenivsky and was released on licence in 2017.
Metropolitan Police Investigation
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Specialist Crime Command began investigating Razzaq in May 2024, following intelligence about his involvement in the sale and transfer of firearms. The investigation, which lasted 10 months, led to the recovery of 14 converted firearms before they could be distributed. Razzaq was arrested in September 2024 and pleaded guilty to firearms offences.
Detective Inspector Andy Durham of the Met’s Specialist Crime Command stated that the sentences concluded a complex investigation. He noted Razzaq's significant role in distributing dangerous converted firearms onto London's streets, adding that the investigation contributed to a reduction in shootings involving such weapons. Police said Razzaq worked with Robert and Ricky Dorey to distribute the firearms. Abdul Rahman Saleh assisted in handling and moving weapons, Patrick Loughnane acted as an intermediary, and Tammy Rigg stored a converted firearm at her home.
Sentencing of Co-conspirators
Alongside Razzaq, six other individuals were sentenced for their roles in the firearms network. Robert Dorey received eight years imprisonment, Ricky Dorey was sentenced to 10 years, Abdul Rahman Saleh received seven years and six months, Patrick Loughnane was given eight years and six months, and Tammy Rigg was sentenced to five years and three months. A police warrant executed in November 2024 uncovered tools used for converting blank-firing weapons, ammunition, improvised explosive devices, and extremist material.
