Ivan Toney faces assault charge at Westminster court
The England striker is accused of attacking a man at a Soho nightclub on December 6.
Ivan Toney, the England striker, arrived at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on July 31 to face an assault charge. The 30-year-old footballer, who is from Northampton, is accused of assaulting Saber Da Silva at a nightclub in Wardour Street, Soho, on December 6.
The Metropolitan Police charged Toney with assault occasioning actual bodily harm following an investigation. He arrived at the court shortly after 9:30am, accompanied by three members of his entourage, ahead of a 10am hearing.
A spokesperson for Ivan Toney previously stated that the footballer denies the allegation. The statement said: “Ivan acknowledges the charge and although he is naturally shocked, he looks forward to being given the opportunity to clear his name in court.”
Toney previously played for Brentford, where he scored 72 goals over four years. He made a move in 2024 to Saudi Pro League club Al-Ahli. He has 10 international appearances for England.
