Man died of cocaine toxicity, inquest hears

Tudor Sorin Iuga, 49, was found dead at his home in Hove Avenue, Walthamstow, on July 3. Bailiffs attending the property for a repossession visit discovered Mr Iuga unresponsive, an inquest at East London Coroner’s Court was told on September 7.

Police were called to the scene but could not immediately determine a cause of death. Following toxicology tests, the cause was identified as heart failure brought on by cocaine toxicity. Drug paraphernalia and alcohol bottles were also found at the property, senior coroner Graeme Irvine stated.

Inquest proceedings

Mr Irvine opened the inquest into Mr Iuga’s death, stating that as the cause was unnatural, a full investigation would take place in January. The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding Mr Iuga's death.
