Detective Chief Superintendent Emma Bond, who leads policing in the area, stated that police officers are held to the highest standards of scrutiny for their actions both on and off duty. She described PC Gudgeon's behaviour as unacceptable and commended the victim for coming forward, which led to a thorough investigation and conviction.
