A woman was found dead at her East Ham address on August 21, 2026, when her landlord and bailiffs entered the property to carry out an eviction. Beana Khan, 45, was discovered deceased at her home on Katherine Road. An inquest into her death was opened at East London Coroner’s Court in Walthamstow on September 2, 2026.

Eviction proceedings led to discovery

Coroner’s officer Jean Smyth informed the court that the landlord had initiated eviction proceedings. The landlord entered the property with a locksmith and bailiffs on the day Ms Khan was found. Police conducted a search of the address but reported finding nothing suspicious.

The cause of Ms Khan's death is currently unascertained. A full inquest hearing will be scheduled at a later date.
