Bromley councillor Dean Miller of Reform UK has been secretly filmed making a series of racist and misogynistic comments, according to an ITV News report. The recordings allegedly capture Mr Miller referring to black children as 'animals' and suggesting King Charles is a Muslim.

The undercover footage also reportedly shows another Reform UK member stating that his neighbourhood had become 'infested' with Asian families. Mr Miller is also alleged to have claimed that London had been 'ethnically cleansed' and expressed concern about demographic shifts within his borough.

Allegations made by councillor Miller

According to the broadcaster, Mr Miller stated, 'Because you never used to get any blacks over in Bromley, and now Bromley [has] massive Nigerian communities there.' In a separate exchange concerning vandalism, he allegedly said, 'Like all the ethnic kids, they're not white, they're all black, and they're like animals.'

The councillor was also recorded making controversial claims about King Charles. ITV reported that Mr Miller said, 'Apparently King Charles is a Muslim,' before allegedly suggesting the monarch had betrayed the country and making remarks about beheading him.

Reactions to the revelations

Reform UK leader Nigel Farage suggested the undercover investigation was politically motivated, stating that 'the establishment frankly want us out of the picture.' He added that while the party vets candidates, 'you can’t vet people for what they say in the future.'

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak called on Reform UK to take 'immediate and firm action' against its councillors involved in the revelations. Other political figures, including Andy Burnham and Sir Ed Davey, also condemned the alleged comments and urged the party to act decisively.

Mr Farage also commented that one of the individuals filmed had previously been a Conservative councillor for many years. He suggested that similar comments could be found if other parties' councillors were subjected to similar investigations.
