Anti-migrant activist Daniel Thomas, also known as Danny Tommo, has been remanded into custody. He is awaiting trial next year accused of criminal damage to a boat in the English Channel.

Thomas, 37, appeared via videolink from prison for a hearing at Portsmouth Crown Court on Tuesday. He was wearing a grey t-shirt and holding a copy of the Holy Bible. His address was withheld by the court at a previous hearing.

He had previously pleaded not guilty to a charge of criminal damage. This relates to an allegation that he slashed a boat in the English Channel on September 22, with an emergency responder on board at the time. Thomas also denied failing to disclose his phone's PIN to police, an offence under Section 53 of the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000.
