Man arrested after Leyton High Road attack leaves victim fighting for life

The victim was transported to hospital where his condition was described as life-threatening. The arrested man was taken into custody on suspicion of grievous bodily harm, and enquiries by the Metropolitan Police are ongoing.
A London Air Ambulance was dispatched and landed at Leyton Country Cricket Ground. Police cordoned off a section of shops on High Road, with a significant police presence also noted near Coronation Gardens.
The Metropolitan Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to contact them by calling 101, quoting reference 1742/22Aug.
