Police administered emergency first aid at the scene before the man was taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service. He remains in hospital receiving treatment.
Investigation Underway
Detective Superintendent Tony Bellis confirmed that the Metropolitan Police are investigating the firearms incident. He stated, "We are investigating a firearms incident in Wembley, which has left a 24-year-old man in a critical condition."
He added, "Officers were called to reports of a shooting at 03:45hrs on Saturday, 3 October on Douglas Avenue. Later, a man was found outside Wembley Police Station suffering from gunshot wounds."
No arrests have been made at this stage, and enquiries are continuing. Detective Superintendent Bellis acknowledged the concern within the local community and stated there would be an increased police presence in the area in the coming days. He urged anyone with information or who was in the area at the time to contact police on 101, quoting reference 1115/30CT.
