Orpington woman arrested in Dartford with stolen digger
Police spotted a suspicious vehicle towing a trailer that was later found to have a stolen digger on board.
A 37-year-old woman from Orpington has been arrested in Dartford following the recovery of a stolen digger. Officers on patrol spotted a Ford Transit van towing an empty trailer on Hawley Road at approximately 12:30 am on Thursday, September 3. The same vehicle was later observed on Green Street Green Road, this time with a digger loaded onto the trailer.
Police followed the van until it stopped on Darenth Park Avenue. Checks by officers confirmed that the digger had been reported stolen. The woman, who was driving the vehicle, was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and driving without insurance.
She has since been released on police bail pending further enquiries into the incident.
