Person dies after train incident at Walthamstow Queen's Road

A person has died following an incident involving a train at Walthamstow Queen's Road Overground station on Saturday, September 16. Emergency services were alerted to the scene at approximately 5:55 am.

The British Transport Police (BTP) confirmed that the individual was pronounced dead at the scene. The age and gender of the deceased have not been released. The BTP has stated that the incident is not being treated as suspicious, and a file will be prepared for the coroner.

Transport Disruption

Following the incident, Transport for London (TfL) suspended services on the Suffragette line between South Tottenham and Barking Riverside. Police and paramedics, including a hazardous area response team and a trauma team from London's Air Ambulance, were deployed to the station.

The London Ambulance Service reported being called at 5:57 am to reports of a person hit by a train. Resources sent included a fast response car, an incident response officer, paramedics from the hazardous area response team, and a trauma team in a car. Services on the Suffragette line have since resumed normal operation.
