Three men have been arrested following police raids that resulted in the seizure of over £150,000 in cash. The warrants were executed on Wednesday, September 16, at addresses located in Chelmsford, Ongar, Rawreth, Stapleford Abbots, and Dagenham. The operation focused on investigating car theft and vehicle cloning activities.
The arrests took place at properties in Ongar, Stapleford Abbots, and Dagenham. All three individuals were detained on suspicion of conspiracy to steal motor vehicles and were transported to Southend Police Station for questioning. The operation was spearheaded by the Castle Point and Rochford Neighbourhood Policing Team.
“The arrests made today demonstrate our commitment to tackling vehicle crime and those who profit from it. We know the significant impact these thefts have on victims. Nobody wants to wake up in the morning and see an empty space outside their house. The cash, suspected stolen car parts and other items recovered during these searches represent a significant result, but we will continue to target offenders, disrupt organised criminality across our districts and beyond, and put those involved in vehicle crime before the courts.”
Sergeant Adam Jarvis stated that the arrests highlight the team's dedication to combating vehicle crime and apprehending those who benefit from it. He acknowledged the considerable distress vehicle thefts cause to victims, noting that the recovered cash, suspected stolen car parts, and other items signify a substantial outcome for the investigation.
