Ashley Wallace, of Shenley Road in Southwark, was convicted of Tyrece's murder in August. However, Bonnie Balcha stated that the conviction does not feel like full justice. She explained that a retrial for another individual is scheduled for next June, and some people initially charged have since been found not guilty. This ongoing legal process means the family cannot fully grieve or share Tyrece's full story.
Bonnie Balcha also questioned why the nightclub near where the shooting occurred has been allowed to remain open, noting an altercation outside the venue preceded the incident. She expressed concern for other mothers experiencing similar losses and questioned the effectiveness of measures to protect young people.
Tyrece Balcha had registered as an organ donor shortly before his death. His organs have since been used in life-changing surgeries for multiple recipients. His mother wishes for him to be remembered not only for the circumstances of his death but for his kind nature and the love he shared.
