A 48-year-old man has been charged with murder after a woman was stabbed to death in Shepherd’s Bush on 18 August. Samantha Turner, 52, was pronounced dead at the scene on Askew Road shortly after emergency services arrived. A second woman, aged 32, was also stabbed and remains in hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.

The Metropolitan Police said officers were called to the address at 08:19. Despite efforts to save her, Turner died at the scene. Her family have been informed and are receiving support from specialist officers. The 32-year-old victim continues to be assessed in hospital.

Arrest and charges

Alan Dore, of Askew Crescent, Shepherd’s Bush, was arrested at the scene on 18 August. He was charged the following day with murder and attempted murder. Dore, born on 3 April 1978, will appear at Hendon Magistrates’ Court on 20 August for his first hearing.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed the charges in a statement released on 19 August. A murder investigation was launched immediately after the incident. No further arrests have been made.

What happens next

Dore’s case will be heard at Hendon Magistrates’ Court on 20 August. Magistrates will decide whether the case should be sent to the Crown Court for trial. If sent, a plea hearing and trial date will be set at a later date.
