British Transport Police seek witnesses after attempted sexual assault on City Thameslink train

British Transport Police (BTP) have issued an appeal for witnesses after a man attempted to sexually assault a woman on a train travelling between City Thameslink and London Bridge on 28 July 2026. The incident occurred at around 10 pm, as reported by the *Evening Standard*.

The suspect, described as a white man in his late 50s, was using a mobility scooter at the time. He was wearing a black hat and jacket. Two passengers intervened during the assault, challenging the man and alerting the victim, BTP said.

BTP have identified the attacker but are seeking further information to assist their investigation. Officers are particularly keen to speak to the two witnesses who intervened, as well as anyone else who may have seen the incident or has relevant information.
