The collision occurred at approximately 7.49am. The van involved in the incident was not connected to the original incident the police officer was responding to. The officer’s injuries were assessed as neither life-threatening nor life-changing. No other injuries were reported.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed that enquiries into the circumstances of the collision are continuing. As of the time of reporting, no arrests have been made. The public has been asked to contact police on 101, quoting CAD 1421/03SEP, if they have any information.
A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service stated that crews were dispatched to the scene following reports of a road traffic collision. A patient was treated at the scene before being transported to a local hospital.
