Police cordon off Boston Road in Hanwell after early-morning stabbing

Police have sealed off a section of Boston Road in Hanwell after a man was stabbed in the early hours of Monday 19 August. The cordon, in place since before dawn, stretches from Uxbridge Road to Lower Boston Road, disrupting traffic and bus services in the area.

The London Ambulance Service confirmed paramedics were called to Boston Road at 2:35 AM. They treated one patient at the scene before transferring him to a major trauma centre. The severity of his injuries has not been disclosed.

Bus diversions in place

Transport for London has diverted two bus routes away from the cordon. The E8 is rerouted via Northfield Avenue, Windmill Road and Boston Road, missing stops from Dean Gardens to Windmill Road. The 195 is diverted from Uxbridge Road via Broadway, Northfield Avenue and Boston Manor Road, bypassing stops from Jessamine Road to Windmill Road.

Boston Road is a busy thoroughfare in Hanwell town centre, lined with restaurants, corner shops and takeaways. The cordon is near its junction with Jessamine Road, where red-and-white police tape was visible this morning. Officers and a police van remain at the scene.

Police response pending

The Metropolitan Police have not yet provided details about the incident or confirmed when the road closure will be lifted. MyLondon reported that the nature of the incident remains unclear, though officers have been at the scene since the early hours.
