Undercover officers arrest wanted man disguised as street cleaner

A man wanted for serious offences, including grievous bodily harm and stabbing, has been arrested by undercover Metropolitan Police officers. The suspect was apprehended while disguised as a street cleaner and a Deliveroo rider.

The Metropolitan Police released footage showing two plain-clothed officers moving in to detain the individual. One officer, dressed in a high-visibility jacket and pushing a wheelie bin, approached the suspect. Simultaneously, another officer on a Deliveroo-branded bicycle stopped nearby. The officers then engaged with the suspect, bringing him to the ground.

During the arrest, officers informed the suspect he was wanted for GBH, stabbing, and failing to appear in court for assaulting police officers. He was also arrested for a breach of a court order and possession of an offensive weapon.

Following the arrest, a search of the suspect revealed a machete concealed in his waistband, along with class A drugs. The Metropolitan Police stated that a second individual was also arrested at the same location.

The Metropolitan Police shared a video of the operation on social media, describing it as the moment a "wanted gang member's luck finally ran out". The force indicated that the operation demonstrated that individuals should not know who is watching them.
