US Embassy Staffer Accused of Child Abuse Images Flown from UK

A staff member at the US Embassy in Vauxhall, south west London, accused of possessing indecent images of children, was detained at his south London flat in August. The individual, who reportedly held diplomatic protection though not formally a diplomat, was subsequently flown back to the United States on a commercial flight without first being interviewed by British police.

The US Embassy confirmed to the BBC that it is investigating the allegations and has reassigned the staff member to the United States as inquiries proceed.
