A 16-year-old girl was declared dead at Danson Park in Bexleyheath on 18 August 2026 after police and paramedics responded to reports of an unresponsive person. The Met Police confirmed her next-of-kin have been informed and the death is not being treated as suspicious.

A 37-year-old Bexleyheath resident received an 18-week suspended prison sentence after pleading guilty to causing unnecessary suffering to a cat named Nugget. Vasca was also banned from keeping animals for five years and ordered to pay compensation by September 2026.

A 29-year-old Bexleyheath mother has been given a two-year suspended prison sentence after admitting involvement in cocaine supply. Hannah Sims denied taking her child to a drug deal, a claim prosecutors alleged but the court did not prove. She was first arrested in January 2025 as a driver in armed robberies later dismissed by a jury.

A former Metropolitan Police constable has been barred from policing after a misconduct panel found he abused his position to pursue a sexual relationship with a vulnerable woman he met while on duty in Bexleyheath in 2016. The CPS declined to charge him despite IOPC investigation.
