A Romford man has been sentenced to three years in prison for assaulting a transgender couple in Eltham. The attack on 18 April left both victims with significant injuries after John Mongan threatened and punched them on Baring Road. The court heard Mongan has a history of violent offences.

Metropolitan Police are investigating a double stabbing in Plumstead in the early hours of 9 August. Two 30-year-olds were treated for non-life-threatening injuries. No arrests have been made, and officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Two people were taken to hospital after a knife attack on Barnfield Road in Plumstead in the early hours of 9 August. Police established a cordon near Burrage Road and Bloomfield Road while London Ambulance Service treated the patients at the scene.

Metropolitan Police officers used a taser to arrest a man in Kidbrooke Grove, Blackheath, after responding to a welfare concern at 00:35 on 2 July. The man, in his 20s, was arrested for possession of an offensive weapon and indecent exposure.
