A 12-year-old boy has appeared at Bromley Magistrates' Court facing multiple charges including vandalism at St Alfege Church in Greenwich and theft of an e-scooter. The case has been adjourned to Bexley Magistrates' Court.
Illia Bilyk, 21, has pleaded guilty to five counts of racially and religiously aggravated criminal damage after spraying graffiti on mosques and a school in east London in January 2025. He told police he was recruited by a Russian speaker via Telegram and paid for the vandalism.

A British Heart Foundation charity shop in Sidcup experienced vandalism last week when its front window was smashed. Sidcup Partners BID has obtained CCTV footage and offered the identifiable suspects a chance to pay for the repairs before involving the police. Staff and volunteers expressed shock.
A memorial cherry tree for a guide dog named Star in Norbury Park, Croydon, has been vandalised. The tree was planted nearly three years ago by Paul Harman, who is visually impaired. Croydon Council has committed to replacing the tree.
