Fabian Pawlowski, aged 22, has been sentenced to four and a half years in prison for a series of robberies committed on the London Underground. The offences occurred between April 27 and May 15. Pawlowski pleaded guilty to three counts of robbery and two counts of possession of a bladed article at Harrow Crown Court on Friday, October 9.

Robberies on the Underground

The court heard that on April 27, Pawlowski boarded a Metropolitan Line train at Harrow-on-the-Hill. He asked a fellow passenger to use his phone, and when the man later asked for it back, Pawlowski punched him and displayed what appeared to be a knife. Three days later, on April 30, Pawlowski again targeted a man at Harrow-on-the-Hill station, threatening him and taking his phone. On May 15, on a Jubilee line train between Canning Town and North Greenwich, Pawlowski became aggressive towards a passenger, produced two blades from his pocket, and stole the man's phone.

British Transport Police (BTP) identified Pawlowski using CCTV stills circulated in a wanted appeal. He was arrested by BTP officers at Stratford station on June 16. He entered his guilty plea in July after being presented with evidence linking him to the robberies.

“Pawlowski is a serial offender who set out to intimidate his victims, using threatening language as well as a knife to force his victims to hand over their mobile phones. Pawlowski’s actions have caused significant distress and fear and I am pleased that he will now spend a substantial amount of time behind bars.”
— Detective Constable Olesia Berdova, BTP

Detective Constable Olesia Berdova of BTP stated that Pawlowski intimidated his victims with threats and a knife. She added that BTP remains committed to reducing robberies on the railway network and urged anyone who experiences or witnesses such incidents to report them by texting 61016.
