Adell Groves, aged 33, died on September 14 after being struck by a car on New Kent Road in Southwark. The collision occurred around 7:58am. London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance were dispatched to the scene. Paramedics treated Ms Groves at the location before she was transported to a major trauma centre, where she later died from her injuries.

Arrest and Investigation

A 31-year-old man was taken into custody at the scene. He was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving under the influence of drugs. The Metropolitan Police are continuing their investigation and are appealing for witnesses to come forward. They are also requesting any available dashcam footage from the time of the incident.

Traffic Disruption

The collision resulted in the closure of New Kent Road in both directions. This closure caused significant congestion and delays for motorists across the surrounding area. Drivers were advised to seek alternative routes.
