A 52-year-old woman died and three others were injured in two separate stabbings in Hammersmith and Fulham over the weekend. The Metropolitan Police have charged a local man with murder and attempted murder following the fatal attack on Askew Road.

Samantha Turner, 52, was pronounced dead at the scene on Askew Road, W12, on 18 August. A 32-year-old woman, who also suffered stab injuries, remains in hospital. Her condition is not life-threatening, the Metropolitan Police said, as reported by This Is Local London.

Second stabbing on Brackenbury Road

Two days earlier, a 16-year-old boy was stabbed on Brackenbury Road, W6, at around 5.21 pm. He presented himself at hospital with injuries that were assessed as neither life-threatening nor life-changing. No arrests have been made in connection with that incident, police confirmed.

The two locations, Brackenbury Road and Askew Road, are less than a mile apart. Police cordoned off streets near Askew Road, including Hadyn Park Road, Lawrence Mews and Davisville Road, following the attack on 18 August.

Charges and next steps

Alan Dore, 48, of Askew Crescent, was charged on 19 August. He is due to appear at Hendon Magistrates’ Court on 20 August. The Metropolitan Police said Turner’s family have been informed and are receiving support from specialist officers.
