Witnesses report hearing screams
Local residents told police they heard shouting and screaming around the time of the attack. A forensic team from the Met carried out a detailed search of the towpath, which remained closed on 6 August as enquiries continued.
No arrests have been made. Police are urging anyone with information to come forward. Officers are particularly interested in speaking to witnesses who may have seen the attacker or have dashcam or CCTV footage from the area.
