Detectives are appealing for the public's help to identify two men wanted in connection with the rape of a teenage girl in Bethnal Green. The Metropolitan Police released CCTV images of the individuals as part of their investigation into the incident.

The attack took place at approximately 11:30 PM on Thursday, August 1, 2024. The victim reported seeing two men on Whitechapel Road who subsequently led her into Weavers Fields, where the assault occurred. The victim's family stated that she continues to live in fear and no longer feels comfortable being alone.

Reward Offered for Information

Crimestoppers, an independent charity, is offering a reward of £10,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the rape. The organisation stated that the reward is for information provided directly to them.

Detective chief inspector Anna Deighton urged anyone who recognises the men in the released CCTV images to come forward. 'This was an awful attack on a teenage girl who was targeted and subjected to sexual violence,' she said. 'If you recognise the men in the CCTV we have released with this appeal, please come forward and speak to us.'

The police have conducted CCTV reviews, forensic investigations, and spoken with potential witnesses since the incident. They have advised the public that if they see the men, they should call 999 immediately, providing a description, location, and details of any vehicles or direction of travel. They strongly advised against attempting to detain the individuals.
