Clapham bus driver shot dead outside pub, no further arrests made

A 25-year-old bus driver was shot and killed outside a pub in Willington Road, Clapham, on the evening of 10 August 2026. Auguste-Marie Bile-aka Amoa died at the scene, as confirmed by the Metropolitan Police. No one else has been charged in connection with the incident.

Police arrested a 22-year-old man on suspicion of murder the same evening. He was taken to hospital for treatment after sustaining a gunshot wound. Following further enquiries, officers released him without charge, and no further arrests have been made.

Family pay tribute to 'amazing young man'

Bile-aka Amoa’s family released a statement describing him as a source of joy and kindness. They said his death had left them devastated and called for justice. "It is difficult to imagine a world without his smile, his presence, and the joy he brought to those around him," the family said.

Police appeal for witnesses

Detective Chief Inspector Claire Guiver, who is leading the investigation, urged anyone with information to come forward. She said the police were particularly interested in CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage from the area around the time of the shooting.

Guiver said: "Our thoughts remain with Bile-aka’s family as they continue to come to terms with this tragic incident. Any piece of information you have could prove vital in our investigation." She added that even small details could assist the enquiry.
