Elderly woman fights for life after aggravated burglary in Finsbury Park

A 75-year-old woman remains in hospital with life-threatening injuries after a violent burglary at a home on Tollington Park in Finsbury Park. Police were called to the scene at around 21:20 on 11 August 2026 following reports of an aggravated burglary.

An 81-year-old man was also found injured at the property. He was assessed by paramedics and taken to hospital but later discharged with injuries described as non-life-threatening. The Metropolitan Police confirmed both victims were attacked during the incident.

Crime scene extends to Evershot Road

A police cordon remains in place at the address and along Evershot Road as officers continue their investigation. The Metropolitan Police said enquiries are ongoing but no arrests have been made.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward. Members of the public can contact police on 101, quoting reference CAD7757/11AUG. The investigation is being led by officers from Islington’s local policing team.
