Four men have been arrested after an assault at a Dagenham pub resulted in a man suffering a cardiac arrest. The incident took place on Heathway on August 22.

London Ambulance Service paramedics were treating the man, aged in his 40s, when they requested assistance from Metropolitan Police officers at 7.10pm. Police involvement was sought after it was established the patient had been assaulted.

The man was taken to hospital following the incident. His condition has reportedly improved and is now considered non-life-threatening and not life-changing. He remains in hospital care.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson confirmed that four men have been arrested in connection with the assault. Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
