Ezekiel Williams, a 26-year-old midfielder for Hendon FC, died from a head injury, a post-mortem examination has found. Police are investigating his death as a murder. Williams suffered serious injuries in an incident that occurred at approximately 02:00 GMT on Sunday in Midsummer Boulevard, Milton Keynes. He passed away in hospital on Monday.

Two men, aged 21 and 28, both from Luton, have been arrested on suspicion of murder. They remain in police custody. A third man, aged 30 and also from Luton, was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. He has since been released on bail.

Police Appeal for Information

Detective Inspector Rob Underhill, from Thames Valley Police, has appealed for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward. He stated that the force is continuing to support Williams' family and his close circle of friends. "It is clear from tributes that have been paid that he was a hugely respected and loved person, and we are determined to ascertain the circumstances around his death," DI Underhill said.

Tributes to the Player

Williams joined Hendon FC, based in north London, in September. The club, which competes in the Isthmian League South Central Division, described him as a "humble, unassuming and generous individual with a razor-sharp wit".
