Detective chief inspector Brian Howie, who is leading the investigation, stated that his thoughts are with the family and friends of Mr Davidson. He described the incident as a "senseless act of violence" that occurred during a memorial service. DCI Howie indicated that between 40 and 50 people, including children, were present at the time of the shooting. He urged anyone who was in the vicinity of Erconwald Street, Braybrook Street, surrounding roads, or the Wormwood Scrubs playground between 6pm and 8pm on the evening of the incident to come forward with any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem.
