Man, 66, dies after being found in River Thames

Incident → evidence → outcomeA 66-year-old man has died after being discovered in the River Thames close to Albert Embankment. Emergency services were alerted to the incident shortly after 12:30pm on Sunday, following reports of a person in the water.
The Metropolitan Police, London Ambulance Service, London Fire Brigade, and London's Air Ambulance all attended the scene. The air ambulance landed on the riverbank as rescue efforts were initiated.
Despite the efforts of the attending emergency personnel, the man was transported to hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. The Metropolitan Police have confirmed that the death is not being treated as suspicious.
The man's next of kin have been informed of his death. Specialist officers are currently providing support to his family.
