British Transport Police are seeking a man after a family was allegedly assaulted on a south-east London train.
British Transport Police are seeking a man they believe can assist with inquiries into an alleged assault and biting incident on a London Underground train. The incident took place on September 5 at approximately 5:30pm.
The alleged assault occurred on a service travelling between Maze Hill and Woolwich Arsenal stations in south-east London. Police stated that a man, who was carrying a baby, was bitten during a confrontation.
Aggression towards family
Officers reported that a family was seated on the train when a man approached them and became aggressive. During the ensuing confrontation, the man allegedly assaulted and bit a passenger holding a baby. Other family members who attempted to intervene were also reportedly assaulted.
The individual involved in the alleged incident exited the train at Woolwich Arsenal station. He left the area before police officers arrived at the scene. Investigators have now released a photograph of a man they wish to trace, believing he may have information relevant to their enquiries.
British Transport Police are asking anyone who recognises the man in the released image to contact them. This can be done by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 581 of September 5. Information can also be provided anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
