Man charged after 8 injured in Hither Green station attack

Incident → evidence → outcomeA man has been charged after eight people were injured in a series of alleged attacks at Hither Green station on August 20, 2020. British Transport Police (BTP) are continuing to appeal for additional victims and witnesses to come forward.
Myles Miller, 28, of Broom Gardens, Croydon, was arrested following the incident, which occurred at approximately 6.50am. He has since been charged with possession of a bladed article in a public place. Miller appeared at Westminster Magistrates Court on August 24 and was granted bail. His next court appearance is scheduled for September 15.
Victims and witnesses sought
Four of the eight individuals injured in the alleged assaults have spoken to officers. One victim sustained broken teeth after being punched, while another suffered injuries, including striking a handrail, after being pushed to the ground. BTP believe several witnesses were present but did not speak to officers at the time.
The police are specifically appealing for four more individuals who were assaulted to come forward. They also believe that a number of people who witnessed the events have not yet provided statements. The man also reportedly damaged a member of rail staff's car during the incident.
