Man dies from head injuries in Clapham; murder probe launched

Police were called to Poynders Road on Friday morning where a man in his 30s was found with serious injuries and later pronounced dead.

A man in his 30s has died in Clapham following serious head injuries. Police have launched a murder investigation into the incident. Officers were alerted by the London Fire Brigade to an address in Poynders Road at approximately 8:35 am on Friday, September 4.

Attending the scene alongside the London Ambulance Service, police discovered a man in his 30s with severe head injuries. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, he was pronounced dead at the location. The man's next of kin have been notified and are receiving support from specialist officers.

Investigation Underway

Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell is leading the investigation. She stated that the incident is tragic and that thoughts are with the victim's family. A team of detectives is actively pursuing enquiries to determine the circumstances of the death. At this stage, police believe the incident was isolated and there is no indication of a wider risk to the public.

DCI Foxwell appealed to anyone who was in the area or witnessed anything unusual to come forward, emphasising that even minor details could be significant. Residents can expect an increased police presence in the vicinity as the investigation progresses.

No arrests have been made thus far. A crime scene has been established at the Poynders Road address and remains in place while enquiries continue. Police are asking for anyone with information, CCTV, doorbell footage, or dashcam footage to contact them by calling 101 and quoting CAD7021/04SEP26.
