Man dies in Wood Green house fire
Firefighters battled a blaze on Granville Road that destroyed the first floor and roof of a property.

The London Fire Brigade (LFB) was called to a blaze in a terraced two-storey property on Granville Road at approximately 10:15 pm on September 26. Firefighters arrived to find significant flames and smoke issuing from the building.
One woman managed to escape the property before emergency services arrived. A man died at the scene. His age and identity have not yet been formally released. Around 40 firefighters, with engines from Tottenham, Hornsey, Edmonton and surrounding stations, attended the incident. The LFB confirmed that crews brought the fire under control by approximately 11:30 pm.
The fire caused extensive damage, with the first floor and half of the roof of the house destroyed. The Metropolitan Police and the Brigade’s Fire Investigation Team are jointly investigating the cause of the fire.
