A 40-year-old man is fighting for his life after being stabbed in Hanwell town centre in the early hours of an unspecified date. The attack occurred on Boston Road at approximately 2:25am, as confirmed by the Metropolitan Police in a statement to MyLondon.

The victim was taken to a major trauma centre by paramedics. His current condition remains critical, though police have not released further details about his identity or the circumstances of the attack.

Road closures and forensic work

Boston Road has been closed to traffic and pedestrians between Uxbridge Road and Lower Boston Road since the incident. The Metropolitan Police stated that the closure is necessary to allow forensic teams to examine the scene.

Photographs published by MyLondon show officers in protective clothing working behind a cordon. Yellow evidence markers and bags are visible along the pavement, particularly between Maunder Road and Jessamine Road, where police activity is concentrated.

No arrests have been made in connection with the stabbing. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson told MyLondon that enquiries are ongoing, though they did not specify whether any suspects have been identified.

Impact on residents

The closure of Boston Road is likely to disrupt local travel. Residents and businesses in the area should expect delays and diversions while the investigation continues. Police have not indicated how long the road will remain shut.

Transport for London has not issued specific guidance for bus routes affected by the closure. However, services that normally use Boston Road may be subject to temporary rerouting or delays.

What happens next

The Metropolitan Police will continue their investigation into the stabbing. Forensic analysis of the scene may take several days, and the road closure is expected to remain in place until this work is complete.

Police have not announced any public appeals for witnesses, but residents with information are encouraged to contact the Metropolitan Police directly. The force has not confirmed whether CCTV footage from the area is being reviewed.
