A man in his 30s is in hospital with injuries described as life-threatening following an assault in Stratford. The incident occurred on Penny Brookes Street on the evening of Saturday, 22 August.

Metropolitan Police officers were called to the scene at approximately 9:15pm, where they found the man with severe injuries. The London Ambulance Service attended and transported him to hospital. He remains in a critical condition.

Witness appeal

The suspects had left the area before police arrived. At this stage, no arrests have been made, and officers are continuing their enquiries. Detective Sergeant Justina Rackauskaite, who is leading the investigation for the Metropolitan Police, stated that the investigation is progressing rapidly to understand the circumstances surrounding the assault.

Detective Sergeant Rackauskaite is urging anyone who was in the Penny Brookes Street area on the evening of the assault to come forward if they saw anything. Police are also requesting that individuals with any relevant CCTV, doorbell camera, or dashcam footage contact them, as any information could assist the ongoing investigation.
