Man injured in substance attack on Plumstead Common Road

A man in his 40s has been hospitalised following an incident on Plumstead Common Road where a substance was thrown at his face. The Metropolitan Police responded to reports at approximately 6:35 am on Sunday, September 27.

Officers attended the scene with the London Ambulance Service. The victim was treated for injuries to his face before being transported to hospital. A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police confirmed that the injuries sustained were assessed as neither life-threatening nor life-changing.

Investigation Underway

The Metropolitan Police stated that they understand the incident may cause concern within the local community. At this stage, the incident is being treated as isolated. Officers are carrying out urgent enquiries to identify the individual responsible. These enquiries include forensic analysis and the review of CCTV footage in the area.

No arrests have been made in connection with the incident, and investigations are continuing.
