A man has died following a shooting that took place during a memorial service in Hammersmith and Fulham. Levi Davidson, 40, was killed on October 2 near the junction of Braybrook Street and Erconwald Street. The Metropolitan Police confirmed on October 13 that no arrests had been made 11 days after the incident.

Officers were called to the scene at 7.47pm on October 2 following reports of gunshots. Mr Davidson was pronounced dead at the scene. A post-mortem examination confirmed that he died from a gunshot wound to the chest. The service was being held for his nephew, Malakai Ferguson-Ramson, who had died earlier in the year.

Police appeal for witnesses

Detective Chief Inspector Brian Howie, who is leading the investigation, stated that the force is pursuing several lines of inquiry, including CCTV analysis, witness interviews, and forensic examinations. However, detectives are seeking to build a clearer understanding of the events and wish to speak with the more than 50 individuals who were in the area at the time of the memorial and shooting. It is understood that children were present at the service.

DCI Howie said: "We understand a large number of people had gathered for a memorial service and what should have been a time to come together in remembrance has instead left a family devastated. We believe there were more than 50 people in the area at the time and we are making a direct plea for anyone who was there to contact us. We know there are people who witnessed important moments before, during or after the shooting who have not yet come forward."

Mr Davidson was attending the memorial for his nephew, Malakai Ferguson-Ramson, who was fatally stabbed in West Kilburn on May 26. The shooting on October 2 would have been Malakai’s 21st birthday. Police are treating the two incidents as separate.

The Metropolitan Police are urging anyone who was in the vicinity of Erconwald Street, Braybrook Street, and the nearby Wormwood Scrubs playground between 6pm and 8pm on October 2 to come forward. DCI Howie asked: "Did you see anyone carrying or concealing weapons, people on bicycles acting suspiciously, or vehicles being driven at speed? We also want to hear from anyone with photographs, video, dashcam, doorbell or mobile phone footage. However insignificant it may seem, the smallest piece of information could prove crucial in helping us establish what happened and identify those responsible."

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting CAD 7011/2Oct, or to call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
