Man taken to hospital after stabbing near Victoria Station
Emergency services responded to an incident on Vauxhall Bridge Road in the early hours of October 6.
Incident → evidence → outcomeA man has been taken to a major trauma centre after a stabbing on Vauxhall Bridge Road, close to Victoria Station. The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, October 6. Emergency services were called to the scene shortly after 3.10am.
Paramedics and a trauma team from London's Air Ambulance treated the man at the scene. He was then transported to a major trauma centre as a priority. The Metropolitan Police have not yet confirmed the condition of the victim.
Road closures and response
London Ambulance Service confirmed that multiple resources were dispatched, including an ambulance crew, fast response cars, an incident response officer, and the air ambulance trauma team. The first paramedic arrived within approximately five minutes of the call.
Following the incident, one lane of Vauxhall Bridge Road remains closed to traffic at the junction with Victoria Street and the station. Images from the scene show a police cordon in place outside an HSBC branch on the corner of Wilton Road.
Traffic monitoring service Inrix reported that traffic in the immediate area appeared to be coping well despite the road closure. The Metropolitan Police have been contacted for further information regarding the stabbing.
